To place a coded note with a leader

Select (Coded Note).
In the tool settings window, key in the note.
Turn on Leader and Terminator to draw a continuous leader line.
Select the shape for the main callout.
Toggle on the arrow icon to select whether the callout's main symbol or terminator is placed first.
Select the shape for the terminator.
Enter a data point to place the main callout.
Rotate the symbol to the desired direction, then enter a data point to place the main symbol or terminator and set the starting point for the leader line.
(Optional) Move the pointer to rotate the main callout or terminator. Enter additional data points to define the leader line.
Reset to finish placing the callout.

Note: Use (Annotation Tool Settings) to override the symbology of the callout.
